TURNAROUND TIME

What Is Turnaround Time?

Turnaround time is the number of hours or days it takes you to complete and submit an inspection based on the due date assigned in InspectorADE.
Your InspectorADE dashboard displays your live performance, including on-time submissions, late submissions, and past-due work.

Why Turnaround Time Matters

Turnaround time is the #1 performance metric judged by lenders, servicers, and national clients. Fast, accurate turnaround:

  • Protects client relationships

  • Determines workload volume

  • Prevents chargebacks and compliance issues

Better turnaround leads to more consistent work, stronger client trust, and higher earning potential for inspectors.

NMFS Turnaround Expectations

To maintain excellent performance and client satisfaction, all NMFS inspectors are expected to:

  • Complete every inspection by the due date shown in InspectorADE.

  • Upload immediately after completing each inspection.

  • Communicate any delays early so adjustments can be made when appropriate.

  • Keep no more than 24 hours of inspection backlog, except for rural long-distance routes.

  • Check the InspectorADE dashboard daily for new assignments or updated due dates.

  • Submit as soon as possible from the field whenever signal is available.

Turnaround Adjustments

If NMFS assigns an inspection that is already past due and you complete it within 72 hours, we will adjust the due date to accurately reflect your true turnaround time.

This protects you from being penalized for an inspection you received late.

Common Turnaround Mistakes to Avoid

Avoiding these common issues will protect your score and increase your future workload:

  • Holding inspections instead of submitting them immediately

  • Forgetting to upload after completing work

  • Taking on too many inspections at once

  • Inefficient route planning

  • Not checking the InspectorADE dashboard regularly

  • Waiting until the evening to submit multiple inspections

  • Not reporting access, weather, or safety issues early

Route Planning Tips for Staying On Time

Efficient route planning is one of the easiest ways to maintain strong turnaround performance:

  • Start with inspections closest to going past due

  • Group inspections by location to reduce backtracking

  • Upload from the field whenever possible

  • Keep your vehicle ready (fuel, tires, windshield, tools)

  • Check your dashboard in the morning and again midday

  • Plan ahead for poor-signal areas and upload afterward

Summary

Turnaround time is the most important performance metric in the field services industry. By completing inspections on time, communicating early, planning efficient routes, and avoiding common mistakes, you protect NMFS client relationships and increase your long-term inspection volume.
