Michael Evangelo is the President and CEO of NMFS and started his inspection experience in 1983. Hired by Rand Carlson who was the original CEO of MSI (Mortgage Specialist Inc.), conducting mortgage field service inspections. After years of experience out in the field and over 733,000 inspections personally, National Mortgage Field Services was formed and is now a nationally recognized name in the mortgage field services industry. Michael Evangelo served a 2-year election to the board of the National Association of Mortgage Field Services (NAMFS), and also serves on the Review Committee of Aspen Grove Solutions for background checks, representing NAMFS.

NMFS currently has experienced Account Managers who are seasoned veterans in the mortgage field services industry. After years in the field and several thousand inspections under their belts, they are highly qualified to lead our industry’s premier field service inspectors.

NMFS currently services 28 of our industries’ top National Field Services Companies.

Qualified Inspectors

The main reason for the success of NMFS is our certified field service inspectors. Each of our inspectors has passed the Mortgage Field Services training course provided by and is certified as an inspector. Most companies can provide front photos of a property but lack taking the extra step to document with photos, the water spigot to show that the water is on or off for vacant properties.  We document with photos the digital electric meters or provide a photo of a volt stick to prove the power is on or off. The same goes for gas meters.  A rushed inspection leaving off just one of these important factors could end up costing thousands of dollars. Because of our requirement for certified inspectors, NMFS has never had a claim filed against us for an error or omission.  NMFS has instructed thousands of field inspectors in the art and excellence of field inspecting mortgaged properties.

Standards = Better Inspections Results.


Inspectors working for NMFS are dedicated independent contractors with the highest ethical standards. They are the best mortgage inspectors you will find anywhere in the industry. We know this for certain because we not only process them through Aspen Grove Solutions, but we also obtain our own background check on each applicant.  Compare our inspectors to any of those who had a “15 minute” crash course over the phone from our competitors and you will agree that our inspectors are the best-trained field reps in the industry. Inspectors who do not meet our tough standards, end up working for our competitors.


National Mortgage Field Services is not limited to mortgage field service inspections. We can do a variety of other inspection types including Photo Surveys, Insurance Loss (Loss Draft), Merchant Site Verification, Draw Inspections, Floor Inspections, all types of Collateral Inspections, and more. What We Do Not Do

NMFS does not do “Drive-By” inspections. We stop and inspect every property according to the work order. For the sake of work order recognition, you can call it a “Drive-By” inspection if you prefer. We prefer to call them Occupancy Verification, Property Inspections, Exterior Inspections, etc. All we are saying is that no matter what the inspection is typically called, we are going to stop and do the inspection right. If you prefer real drive-by inspections then please find a company that only pays their inspectors $2-$3 per inspection.  Good luck with the liability issues.

By providing a decent fee to our contractors, we are able to provide our clients with better inspection results. We feel that if you pay peanuts, you get monkey inspection results. Companies that only pay their inspectors $2 or $3 bucks per inspection ask for trouble for themselves and their clients.
