In case you didn’t already know this, as an Independent Contractor, the clients you work for like NMFS, DCFS, GIS etc., are not allowed to provide you with an ID badge. We used to provide photo ID badges until the IRS informed us that in providing company ID badges, it violates the Independent Contractor relationship. Only employees are able to receive ID badges from their employer.
Our contractors ask us all the time if we would issue them an ID badge. We just simply cannot do that for Independent Contractors.
