Why Do We Receive So Many Past Due Inspections?

Receiving Inspections Already Past Due

Often we will receive inspections that only give us 2 days, 1 day, or due today. Sometimes we get work that is 2 or more days past due already! Why is that?

For work that you receive that is already past due, it may be that we received the work from the client that way. That’s a good thing! The reason it’s a good thing is that it gives us a chance to show our client that we are not like the company they just took the inspection away from because they did not do the job. Companies are fired all the time for not turning the work in on time. That’s how we get more work from existing clients. If we can show our clients that we can do the job better than the company they just took the work away from, who do you think they are going to give it to next month…. us!

Another reason you may receive work that is past due is because our company fired the contractor that we had assigned it to because they failed to complete the inspection by the due date.

No matter what the reason, we need to have you do the best you can at making past due inspections your priority. This will no doubt affect your monthly on time percentages, but on the other hand, you just gained work that you wouldn’t have otherwise had, and on top of that, the opportunity to continue getting it in the future!

TurnAround Time

Receiving past due inspections will affect your turnaround time, at least from what you can see on your end. On our side, we can see when you were assigned the inspection and when you completed it. We call those who complete past due inspections that they just received, our Heroes! There will not be any past due late fees. (Unless you have had the inspection in your possession for more than 3 days of course.)

If you are receiving a lot of past due inspections, please don’t let it upset you. We have a few heroes out there that have a turnaround time of less than 50%. But we know the story. We know that they are completing inspections that others failed on. That’s why we call them our heroes.

Be A Hero

When you receive inspections already past due, be a hero. Do them as quickly as possible.
