Next Step – Background Check

OK, now that you’ve got your keys paid for, we are at the point where you need to get your background check.
https://nmfs.com/back-office/aspen-grove-background-check/

This is something that you as the contractor must pay for.  If we paid for it, you would be considered an employee.  We only hire Independent Contractors.

With this background check through Aspen Grove, you will be able to work for other mortgage field service companies, if your rating of IC01 comes back.

  • IC01: You are pure and clean as the wind-driven snow! (Like you, hopefully)
  • IC02: You had a felony about 7 to 10 years ago. This can be appealed.
  • IC03: You have had a felony within the past 7 years. (Don’t even bother with this step, it’s not going to happen.)
  • IC04: You killed somebody, and we don’t know why you are out of jail.

They will issue you a unique number they call an ABC number. This ABC number is attached to every inspection you submit to us, and then when we send your completed inspection back to our client, it goes through the Aspen Grove database to verify your rating and the legitimacy of your background check. Most of our clients will not even accept the inspection unless your ABC# has been verified.

The good news is, that once you obtain your ABC#, that is like gold in our industry. You could apply to work for another client in the morning, and with that ABC#, you could be doing inspections that afternoon.  You don’t have to keep buying the background check for every client you want to work for.  It’s a one time (annually renewable) background check that you can with all additional clients.
